History
Annatar

Julie, yeah tis a sad sad history. But can be stirring at times too.
A few good books that come to mind... fiction based on fact...
On Ravens Wing AKA Red Branch by Morgan Llywelyn . I know I harp on about it but ye ALLLLL should get it.

Trinity by Leon Uris, great book set in circa 1900

Rebels: The Irish Rising of 1916 by Peter De Rosa is a pretty cool read.

Lion Of Ireland by Morgan Llywelyn. Brian Boru's life and death. Aint bad.

Ohh well, go looksee "Amazon" they have plenty o books.

So do ye all have a specific time and place in history that you are most fond of? Have to say Im drawn to ancient Greek history. From Odysseus to Leonidas to Alexander. Although they were hard and in someways really bad so n so's, I kinda like the Spartans more than the other city states.
Favourite person has to be Odysseus. Crafty and smart. "Who wouldnt tell the truth if he could think of a better lie". hehehe. Stories of pretending to be mad to escape the Trojan war, of revenge on Palamedes, The Palladium and The Horse, Cyclops, Scylla and Carybdis, Circe and Calypso, The "resolution" with the Suitors, and a favourite of mine - Penelope, the Test of the Great Bed.

Ahhh I was born out of time. But then I spose it would have been alot tougher then any of us could imagine.

See ye all later :) Ash Nazg...
