Re: Eowyn and Aragorn
Brett C.

Firstly let me say thank you Fingolfin for your kind words at the end of your last posting. I have never had the honor of being called a 'Tolkien Scholar' before. Always glad to be helpful and to hear other opinions in return, which is I think the point of this forum.

As far as Eowyn's little sparring match with Aragorn goes, since the Fellowship have to leave their weapons outside Theoden's hall [as per Wormtongues instructions to the guards] maybe the sparring match is because of Aragorn's reluctance to leave his sword behind, though when this occured in the book it was due to the fact he was already carrying Anduril. Otherwise I'm betting Finglofin is right, and Aragorn makes some sort of accidental social blunder when Eowyn is given the job of escorting the women and children and other non-combatants to Dunharrow while the King and his warriors ride to war at Helm's Deep.

At least, that's assuming PJ follows that part of the literature. I've seen rumours of Eowyn being the one to kill Wormtongue at Orthanc. How that will jibe with the Dunharrow thread, if it's true, I'm not certain.
