My View
Eäriël

I like the movie.
I like them presenting Arwen a little bit more, because in the novel you don't know nopr understand why is that girl so important for Aragorn until you read the Apendix. May be I will agree with the critics in one thing: using her to replace Glorfindel was OK for me, but making her ride to the Ford -instead of just sending Frodo alone in the horse- was a little bit too much. Arwen looks good like a messenger, but I can't see her as a warrior. That's the difference I found between Arwen ad Eowyn, and they are now too similar.
I agree with they on cuting off Tom Bombadil. Even when you can feel he is as a great way to show that there are some strenghts in the Middle Earth which are not bound by the power of the Ring, taking that chapters off do not change the idea of the history. I don't like the way Aragorn produces from the air the swords, they could show a little bit more, may be he finding them somewhere in the remains of Wheathertop? But I don't think the escenes in Barrow Donws were a great lost.
Another thing I miss is a little bit more of relationship between Legolas and Gimli.
The rest of the movie is GREAT! The acting is very realistict, exception made of Christopher Lee's Saruman, but Saruman is a deceiver, so you should expect him to be full with manierisms
The two Seans, Astin (Sam) and Bean (Boromir) are incredible. Some people think that Boromir is portrayed too soberb and proud, but I always felt him like that on the novel (only difference: he had black hair).
There is people who think that Elijah Wood is too young, but Tolkien wrote that as the passing of years Frodo kept looking like he were still on his "twenties", so I think the election is great.
No one can say anything about the music and the places. They are just like I imagined them, and there are some place I couldn't just draw in my mind, and now I can, thanks to Alan Lee, John Howe and the rest of the creative team.
