June 11, 2002 Balrogs and Wisdom or Intelligence Just to put my two cents in, alot of people have agreed with the fact that Balrogs work mainly on instinct and dont really think for themselves. I also agreed with this to a certain extent, I want to comment on Tavras thinking Balrogs have no wisdom, I think Balrogs are highly misunderstood beings, and some may even be a little repentant of what they did or that the chose Saurons side. Speaking of the Balrog in Moria, I think Sauron did not have him in the fight near him because itwould have too much trouble to convince the Balrog to move, because Sauron could not concieve any one trying to destroy the ring he would not think any one would go down thier and if they did the orcs were their. The Balrog in Moria, lets call him Bob, know that if he go's out and fights he might get killed, and that he gains nothing even if they win. So the Balrog being happy where he is does not go out to fight. Getting back to tavra, if the balrog is smart enough to not want to die he has wisdom, and according to you he already has intelligence. And when he did fight it was with Gandalf, some one who had the potential to kill him and that fighting Gandalf was purely instinct. Now you may all tell me ( if you are still reading this) how screwed up I am and how what I say is so wring, but I truelly think that Bob is not bad. |
