June 20, 2002 On Orcs Ok i got the idea of Sauramans orcs being stronger because, look who took over in the race to Orthanc, Sauramans orcs, when clearly Mordor orcs were present and they went along with the Isengarders orders. Not saying bad of Sauron, but remember in the Silmarillion Melkor made the orce before sunlight, before dwarf and man. The original orcs obeyed thier master without question. Sauraman had a few thousand years to study how to make orcs better. Sauron may not need strong ors, he just needed a lot of them, which may be why he let Sauraman make the better orc, he didnt need them like Sauraman did. Also Sauraman didnt create the Uruk-hai. He just blended the race of orcs with the race of men. My thinking is that Niether could make another race of orc, it was just Sauraman who decieded to blend man and orc together. One more thing has come to me, note that in the great battle at end of ROTK when sauron stopped putting his will behind the battle the orcs stopped, But when the Uruk-Hai were at Helm's Deep Sauraman, was more concentraiting on the ents and Hourns. This concludes that Sauron may have wanted millions of minions he could controll with ease instead of thousands of stronger more endurant minions, that he could not easily controll. |
