Re: Of Aragorn and Casting Decisions
Razors

Interesting point - how old should Aragorn look? An 87-year-old man doing battle with ringwraiths and orcs seems a bit far-fetched, I'll admit. Personally, I always saw Aragorn as being somewhere in his late forties - pushing middle-age but pretty well-preserved. Maybe Viggo's a shade young, but what the hey - Frodo's supposed to be fifty in the book, and Elijah Wood makes him look like he just got out of high school.

But while we're talking about miscasting - did anyone else have a problem with Cate Blanchett playing Galadriel? I mean, she's supposed to be godlike and radiant and ethereally-beautiful and so on, and Cate Blanchett, well... isn't. And her delivery of her lines was pretty wooden, too - she sounded bored, not wise.

One more thing - how come all the elves in the movie had the same hairdo?

Come to think of it, all the hobbits had the same 'do as well. And all the dwarves. And, er - the humans too. Hmmmmmm...
