Hey, Now You Mention It...

This is about some of the things in the movie that, on reflection, make you think why the characters in the novel did't do that after all. For example...

Why didn't Glorfindel just grab up Frodo and ride him to the ford like Arwen did on the horse? They would have made it in a fraction of the time, the hobbits and Aragorn would have been overlooked by the Wraiths, and dueing the trip Glorfindel's pwer could have helped keep the splinters evil power at bay.

Why did it take Gandalf 17 years to find out the information about the ring if it was really that important?

Why did Saruman let Gandalf retain his staff and Glamdring while he was imprisoned atop Orthanc?

Things that make you go hmmmmm...
