Re: Ray S. Bothered At Non-Tolkien Readers
Brian W.

It doesn't bother me Ray S. You can still dive into the books whenever you want and shouldn't care whether or not other people have read them 8 times or can come up with intellectual arguments regarding controversial issues in the Lord of the Rings. Is your article a joke? These movies were not just made for Tolkien Scholars...They were also made for the general population, and yes, many have not read the books. I have only read The Hobbit and LOTR once, about 10 years ago, have never read the Silmarillion (too difficult for my taste of reading)and have not delved into the vast # of volumes of Middle Earth History, but I loved the books and loved the movie. You call these people you don't even know "lazy" because they have not read the LOTR as much as you? Fans like you give all of us other fans a bad name. I am not a LOTR snob, I am no better than others who have not read it, and I hope everyone else who enjoys and/or contributes to the content in this site does not have the same views you do.
peace and be well,
