I really enjoyed Brett C.'s disscussion on the new wave of Tolkien fanatics. I count my husband and step son as two of these newbies. Try as I might I just could not get them to spend the time to read the trilogy before The Fellowship came out in December. Nevertheless, since the movie was released they have become avid fans, and did attempt to start reading the Two Towers. I have had better success getting them to listen to the audio versions however.I still think there is a much more complete and satisfying journey if one reads the trilogy, but I am happy to count my family finally as fellow Tolkien fanatics, however they got there.
