Re: Sauron's Stupidity
Elbereth

By Sauron's stupidity i meant in making the ring and putting so much of his power into it and not thinking about what would happen if the Ring came into the hands of a person with the wisdom to see what would happen if they tried to weild it and with enough brains to choose to destroy it(and Sauron) instead of weilding it to gain power. Because of he was blinded by evil and greed, he couldn't see that. Also note that even though he could know the thought's of others that were using one of the Palantri, he could not comprehend what they would others would do in a situation that he would do otherwise. Sauron was wise (Gandalf even said he was), but even the wise can make stupid mistakes.

Also, i would like to comment on the issue about some so called "Tolkien fans". I agree with others that it's irritating that people who have only become fans by seeing the movie, and obviously haven't read the books are getting into these debates, and barely know what they're talking about. They're basing everything on the movie, and even though it is for the most part very true to tolkien's works, some is changed and they don't realize it. Our debates should be able to include discussions about the movie but our proof and info shouldn't be based on it, it should be based on the books. Thankyou for your time.
