A Fan is a Fan, To Faramir the Brave
Goldie-Locks

Faramir the Brave, it seems like you are saying that people who were introduced to Tolkien from the movies are not "real" fans. They are. Sorry to tell you this, but I've never known anyone that was "respected" because they were a fan of something. The trivia and attention to detail of written works (especially of Tolkien) is indeed something to enjoy, however respect is something you have to earn, and it's usually by obtaining fans, not by being one.

Why segregate the fans into different catagories? If you'll recall, this website is called "Tolkien-Movies" not "Tolkien-Books." The fandom here is primarily those who want to discuss elements of the upcoming & past films. Thus, the "little" fans as you put it, are many of the people who come here looking for more info on the films. The books and movies are two separate entities, yet they all point at one another, so to speak. They all relate, just as the fans can. We all have something in common because of our love for the books, movies, rpg's, cartoons, etc... Eventually, and hopefully, those who have seen the movies will discover how magnificent the books are. The books will then in turn lead them into the other great works of Tolkien, and their respect for him will grow immensly. Everyone starts out as a newbie. The movies are just making it easier for everyone to start out. :)

How's that for correct grammar and punctuation?
