Re: Stirring the Hornets Nest
Danny

Okay, I am sure that there will be a lot of responses to that statement, because that is obviously what he wanted.

About manslaughter, to call Eru a murderer for causing Gollum to fall is like a Jew or Christian calling God a murderer for destroying Sodom and Gommorah, or for drowning the Egyptians in the red sea. Does that make the Pharoah good and Moses bad? Your statement was obviously to incite a remark, but I would like to point out how poorly thought out your statement was.

Okay, if Gandalf didn't care, why did he bother to put his neck on the line on so many occasions? Why did he sacrifice himself for the fellowship in Moria? Why did he even bother finding out about the ring? Again a comment meant to stir up remarks, but again it was not well thought out.

Sauron made many many mistakes, not just one. It was the culmination of those mistakes, combined with the willpower of the underdog that truely brought him down.

So I don't mind the stiring up the nest so to speak, but can you at least think of some that are more worthy of discussion? No offense.
