Wing and a Prayer

Yes, Smaug, I agree with you that the Balrog had wings of some kind at the bridge. Shadow wings, that did not support flight, formed out of its own personal darkness etc. But to be honest I've used about every arguement and direct quote from the text I can think of for this one. What I would be more interested in asking, at this point, is that is there anyone who's followed this debate who has actually changed their position one way or the other? Just curious.

Thanks also to Donna for your kind words. My wife has ben enjoying the story for the first time on screen to. She even got teary the first time she saw Gandalf fall from the bridge. It has been a real effort keeping the knowledge of 'the White' from her.
