Fingolfin your article was good and put together very well, but I must disagree about cirdans age. I dont think any, even the first elves out of cuvienen could be that old. I understand your theory about the misty mountains but their are other ways mountains can be made smaller, and especially during the wars with melkor all of middle earth got torn up several times. If I remember correctly their were what sounded to me like alot of earth quakes, and I have no doubt that the size and shapes of the misty mountains could have been greatly changed by them in alot less time than you suggested. I would put Cirdan, and admit he could have come from cuvienen, at about 100,000 years old tops.
