Re: LotR and Christianity
El Gupta

I have just read the artiicle by 'Legolas' about Lord of the Rings and Christianity. I have read the books and am a Christian...

There are a lot of Christian images and ideas throughout Tolkiens works (he also draws very heavily on norse (?)mythology). I am not sure that anyone in particular represents Jesus. It could however be argued that Gandalf is kind of a Jesus figure, (eg his sacrifice in Moria, the way he orchestrates events throughout the books, the fact that wizards are messengers of the Valor -see appendices in Rotk) (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
