LotR and Christianity
Fool of a Took
I absolutely agreee!!!!! (laughs) I would have to say that both Aragorn and Gandalf represent Christ. Frodo represents the life of Christians. Yes, it is a complex subject and that is what makes me jump to one subject to another trying to explain everything.
Anyways, I see how Aragorn can be more of a Christ-like figure then Gandalf sometimes. Aragorn returns to Gondor and becomes King, as foretold in prophecy, and during his reign he truly becomes the "Prince of Peace." And he also receives Arwen as his bride just like Jesus wins his bride, the church, only after rising victorious from the grave and ascending to his throne in heaven.
Whoa! So many references that lead to little details all throughout the story. I think it is awesome! Truly amazing work by Tolkien. I wonder why he didn't think his work was allegory. I mean, it is obvious that it is. The whole Lord of the Rings book has references to the basic Christian life and it also has many references to Christ.
Absolutely amazing.......
