Concerning Dvd (Re: Brett C.)
Jeff C.

I agree with you Brett, it is nice to be able to pause and go frame by frame, skip back on little things you miss. All DVD's do that, but since this is LOTR, it's that much better! :)

I had only seen LOTR once since it was released before I bought the DVD. I wanted to wait until I could review it at home in private, without all of the crumb crunching popcorn eating kids offering up distractions as usually is the case at movies these days.

I agree with most that this was a very good job by PJ and I understand why he had to cut away some layers in order to make the movie bearable to the public.

There are some things that still irk me though.

The council of Elrond.. I finally got to replay this a couple times and I still feel like that scene could have been done a lot better.

For example, why did Legolas stand up for Aragorn, when in the books it was Bilbo with his "All that is gold does not glitter" etc.. I really wish they could have used that instead of making up a line for the occasion.

And all the bickering towards the end of the scene, that was rather pathetic.. Like my first review of the film, it was like watching an episode of Springer.

The ending could have been better if they stuck to the original way Tolkien did it. The speech between Aragorn and Frodo was a bit of a reach.

All in all though, I recommend the DVD highly, and I have already watched it about 4 times.

Just my two cents (again) :)
