Fan Clarification
Gina

I agree with Faramir the Brave. You can not really be a "fan", unless you have taken the time out to read the books. I have no problem with people who saw the movie, and didn't read the books. But, I do have a problem with people who saw the movie, without reading the books (before or after), and claiming to know everything about the Lord of the Rings. I myself don't claim to know everything about the Lord of the Rings, even though I have read the books. I'm re-reading them for the second time, in fact, to help myself understand them a little better, and hopefully retain more details. It makes me angry whenever I come across a website made by a person who has only seen the movie, and acts like they just love Tolkien to death. By just seeing the movie, you don't get some of the best parts of the books, such as Tom Bombadil, and the Barrow Downs. So, it just bugs me when these so called "fans" argue with other people about The Lord of the Rings, when they don't know very much about it themselves. I want to thank Faramir for bringing this topic up.
