Reply to Danny's Mair Question
Gibran

Aside from my favoured Olorin, there are indeed several other mentioned Maia. Of course Saruman, Radagast, Sauron and the Balrog(s) as you mentioned. I will add that there are or were two other known members of the Istari brotherhood. Alatar and Pallando ( "Who went into the east with Curinir [Saruman] but did not return with him into the west)were there Valinorean names, though what names they may have had among the free peoples is lost. Also of the Maia, there was Melain, Gothmog (Lord of the Balrogs), other Balrogs (number uncertain), Unien and Osse, mightiest among the sea Maia. Ilmare and Eonwe (mightiest in arms among the Maia), Salmar (a Maia who entered Arda with Ulmo and made the Vala's horns), Tilion (the moon, or its bearer, whom the sindar name Rana)and Anar (the sun or its bearer). Also Tom Bombadil. It is suggested That Draugluin tht Father of Werewolves, Thuringwethil "the lady of secret Shadows", and the terrible Spider Ungoliante may also have been Maia in origin, but this is not clarified. Hope I have been of aid to you.
