LotR and Christianity
Aiglos

I was just reading some past articles about the debate concerning Christianity and Lord of the Rings. I noticed that Annatar described Jesus as 'never using violence.' Perhaps he would go back and recall the time when Jesus threw the vendors out of the temple, using cords as a whip?
Also, Matthew B. says that Christianity and LotR are not necessarily related but then goes on to say that the inhabitants of Middle-Earth served either Morgoth or Iluvatar. But in Christianity, doesn't everyone serve either God or the devil? Whether or not Tolkien chose to inject Christianity into his books, it is there, whether intentionally or merely represented subconsciously by the story's characters and themes.
