August 26, 2002 Reply to Danny The eye of Sauron is a representation of his power to both his servants and enemies. This is the form in which Sauron appears without the power of the Ring. When Sauron has the Ring, its power allows him to take a physical shape, as seen during the intro to the movie. However, when Isildur cuts the Ring from Sauron's hand, he disappears, suggesting that without the Ring Sauron cannot take a physical shape. |
