Peter Holder & Joe Casamento

ALWAYS a true gauge of how in-demand an actor is at the moment can be found in the type of roles -- and directors -- they're knocking back. Cate Blanchett has just passed on an offer of a role in director Sam Raimi's version of Spiderman. The two are currently working on The Gift in the US and it was Raimi's wish that Blanchett would be available for six-weeks to shoot the Spiderman project. But Cate will be out of action for almost a year with the Lord Of The Rings shoot in New Zealand.
