They Ruined Faramir!

I just got back from seeing the film. I was distraught when I saw the way Faramir's character was ruined. Whatever happened to valour? Whatever happened to nobility and compassion? Whatever happened to his eloquent lines? "The Ring will go to Gondor," just doesn't do it for me. I hope he redeems himself in ROTK, or else I'll have to kill Peter Jackson for still allowing Eowyn to marry him.
