Grandfather?

Just a little thing I noticed while watching TTT EE. In the scene where Eowyn offers Aragorn some soup(possibly favorite additional scene), she remarks that Theoden told her that Aragorn had ridden to war with Thengel, Theodens father. She explains to Aragorn that Thengel was her grandfather. But since Theoden is Eowyns uncle, wouldnt that mean that Thengel was actually a different relative, other than a grandfather?
Just wondering if you all had seen that.
