Beregond/Imrahil in the Movie
Bob Praz

Good question, M. Underhill. I also figured that gondorian captain was Beregond, even if they didn't mention his name nor give him a great importance. However, on one of the Decipher trading cards, which are based on the movie, they do call him "Imrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth". It's possible that Decipher simply took a random character of the movie and associated him with a character from the book, but who knows. I would like to think he is Beregond, as he's a guard of the Citadel. Of course, PJ may simply have used the name "Imrahil" for a different minor character in the movie, sort of like how he used "Gamling" as the name for the captain of Theoden's guard (in the book, Gamling the Old is merely one of the sentinels at Helm's Deep).
Also, I seem to recall a name listed for the role of Beregond somewhere at TORn, but it could be a false casting rumor (maybe like Wu Kuki Kaa, although we'll see if Ghan-buri-Ghan is in the EE; it almost sounds too good to be true).
I guess we might find out by looking at the full cast list among the credits of ROTK, which means I must wait for the DVD.

I hope I somehow helped.

PS: In response to Pippin, if I had to choose where to live in all of Middle-Earth, I would take Rivendell, for some of the same reasons as Gondor (knowledge, lore, sophistication, etc), but also for its stunning peace and beauty.
