To Shoehorn or Not to Shoehorn

Farlas, that's the first I've heard this rumor. It would be difficult for him to reprise his Aragorn role within the context of the original Hobbit plot, but I could see them working him into some of the transitional material they're developing. This actually interests me more than how they'll do with the the Hobbit storyline because while they're still bound by a basic outline of events and the underlying principles of Tolkien's universe, PJ and GDT have much more freedom to develop the plot as they see fit. It could be the ultimate in fan fiction, and if they can make Aragorn fit into what they're doing, I say more power to 'em.
