Two Towers Up for International Awards

Peter Jackson's The Two Towers has been nominated for more awards this time by the London Critics Circle and the Los Angeles-based Golden Satellite Awards.

Jackson whose latest film The Two Towers remains the No 1 film in New Zealand and the United States for the third week received nine Golden Satellite Awards by the International Press Academy, made up of entertainment journalists.

The Two Towers was nominated as best motion picture drama, and Jackson for best director and best screenplay along with Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Stephen Sinclair. The other nominations were: best supporting actor drama, best cinematography, best visual effects, best film editing, and best sound. The film will also receive a special achievement award when the awards are announced on Monday (NZ time).

The London Critics Circle has nominated Jackson for best director. The winners will be announced on February 12.
