Sam
Posted by kat on 08-09-04
Frodo sending Sam away and Sam leaving was by far the worst change. If fact when I saw ROTK in the theater I forgave all other changes except that...

Rosie, I'm tempted to tell to read the book and leave it at that, but I won't. Frodo is permitted to sail to the Undying Lands because of what...

My Future Complaint

I have not looked into the extended dvd too extensively, and I have posted on this already, but in the spirit of preemptive complaining, here I go.
Re: the Last Ship

It irks me every time I watch the movie and hear Elrond call that the last ship. It's NOT the last ship. It's NOT EVEN CLOSE to the last ship, as...
The 'Last Ship', and the 'Last' DVD

Lilly, you are quite right. After all, Legolas crosses the sea with Gimli many years later, so that alone is proof. But I guess PJ did not want to...

Retreat? Never!
Posted by Annatar on 08-26-04
Danny, the Witch King did not retreat nor wimp out from a confrontation with Gandalf the Old fool. Gandalf would have died (Again) and cursed in...

That is a very interesting interpetation of the Nazgul's nature, and one that is very much within the realms of Tolkien's descriptions, but it is...

Danny, read the section in ROTK about the demise of the Witch King. It "spells" it out how he died. No lesser blade could have destroyed him.

What Did He Say?
